This and That (MMO)

Last night I actually saw the new EQ2 expansion ,Sentinel's Fate, on the shelves in Best Buy. Very cool to see a SOE game on the shelf. I often see old EQ2 expansions from a few years ago, nice to see the new one out. Speaking of EQ2, it seems they had some issues with the new BG's affecting players skills and points. Instead of a roll back they are doing adjustments upon petitions. Hope they get things back in order soon! Also EQ2 and EQ have some really nifty loot items with LoN. There is a mount I am drooling over for EQ.

A new game is on the horizon with gPotato- Akia. It is currently in CB, looks pretty interesting. If you haven't seen it, check it out here. I think I will be sticking with Allods, but I'll keep an eye on this one. Not much new with Allods. I'm wondering how the cash shop will go. No changes so far. Also a couple of neat looking games to look forward to. TERA and Tales of Fantasy.

Aion Magazine? Yep, they are coming out with a digital magazine. And yes, you do have to pay for it. It comes with some goodies though. A different aspect for a game magazine. Not sure how I feel about this one. Instead of sharing news with the community website, they are charging? Any wonder why I've never been a big fan of their community relations? I suppose this all depends on the content. Ah it comes with goodies- it's all good, right?

DDO has announced how well the subscriptions are going since the FTP model went out. I am happy for them, this game is really great. I don't play it now but it is fantastic for a free game. If I was to play- when I finally pick it back up- I would definitely pay. I think it's well worth it. Props to Turbine.

Darkfall has now has a trial. It cost One Dollar. Really, such a niche game could probably do better to offer a free trial. That's one I'll pass on. Pay a dollar to try out getting ganked?
