As gamers we love all things gamer related, talking about games, reading about games and in general all things game related. Hey, that's why your here! Some of us more than others, but we all share an interest. I always enjoy talking to my gamer friends even if we don't play the same games we share a common ground.
Recently Dire and I have felt in the mood to watch something game oriented, something geeky, something funny. We found a few really good watches I thought I'd share. If you are a gamer you'll appreciate these! No spoilers ahead.
The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. This one is based on tabletop RPG play but it still has the general feel and lingo to go with it. It's funny and really you can relate to the characters. While it's not some big time production it has a great story full of funny lines and nerd raging! I really liked the characters and the quest they were on, switching characters and remaking characters, too funny. If you're looking for a good laugh this movie is full of cheesy humor!
The Guild. I've watched most of the first season but my husband hadn't seen it so I added it to our queue in Netflix the other night. Last night we sat down and watched an episode and he enjoyed it. While some of the show is sort of 'lame' in it's own cute way you can relate to it and laugh with the characters... and sometimes at them. It's so typical of stereotyping that it's hilarious. Any MMO gamer can appreciate the show and at times relate. For the rest of the night we joked and called each other Zaboo and Codex... Yeah nerdy, I know.
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight. This movie is about the Dragonlance books by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman. The characters are based off of a tabletop RPG and many of the spells and abilities are the cornerstones that MMO games originated from. If you're looking for an adventure with fantasy and epic heroes this one is great. It's been awhile since I watched it but I enjoyed it very much. These are my heroes! I've read anything I could get my hands on about this band of friends so it was very cool to see the film.
Is there anything game oriented show or movie you like to watch? Feel free to share, I'm always looking for something good to watch!
