Hang on...! |
I've been creating items in SL and just wanted to create something from scratch myself. I decided to work with some 3D modeling to do so. This requires you to upload the sculpts into the game but it gives you far more freedom than using the creator in the game, you can't 'sculpt' shapes very well.
The other day I made a space ship, well I've made two of them, but I wasn't happy with the overall shape (pictured up top). So I figured I'd fiddle around with something fairly easy and try a sword or a lance. I went with a lance and it came out kind of cool. I thought I'd show the process with some pictures. It is nice to be able to create objects that that you can see in your mind, into a game at that. I'm using Sculptypaint to create the items, which requires java.
So, I was pretty proud that I actually got it to work, it was far easier than I thought it would be but actually sculpting really good looking things and adding quality textures will take some time. It also costs a little bit to upload, not much at all though, only 10L per upload.
I just love to create and hope to do more in the future. It's nice to be able to impact the online world you are in with creations, it's such a great feeling to create and share. Hopefully some better stuff to show off in the future. Enjoy the pictures. I'll probably throw both up on the wall as freebies next week, we'll see.
